Beginning at the age of 2, our
choir and handbell groups offer
children the opportunity to grow
and express themselves musically
and dramatically. These groups
have several opportunities to
use their talents throughout the
year in worship and special
musical events. The First
Baptist Church Music Ministry
offers three separate choirs for
children ages 2 through 5th
grade. Each of them offers an
opportunity for children to
explore the wonderful world of
music, while doing so in an
environment that celebrates the
One who gives us a reason to
sing.
Toddler Choir
Ages 2 and 3
Wednesday 7:00 p.m.
This choir
introduces toddlers
to the basic
concepts of music
and rhythm through
simple songs that
celebrate life and
Jesus. The
group meets each
week in the 3 year
old Sunday school
room located on the
second floor near
the nursery.
Preschool Choir
Ages 4 and 5
Wednesday 7:00 p.m.
This choir begins to
introduce more
advanced musical
concepts that hold
the attention of
busy hands and
minds. These
children also
participate in
summer and Christmas
musical performances
featuring the
children's choirs.
The group meets each
week in the
Kindergarten Room
located on the
second floor beside
the Choir room.
Young Musicians
Choir
1st - 5th grades
Wednesday 7:00 p.m.
This choir continues
to challenge older
children through
more difficult
musical arrangements
and these children
are often featured
in solo and dramatic
roles in summer and
Christmas children's
musicals. The
group meets each
week in the choir
room located on the
second floor above
the Fireside Room
Kid's Bellz
Tuesdays after
school
This group consists
of eleven children,
selected by the
director, for
advanced musical
instruction and
learning to ring
English Handbells.
The Kid's Bellz ring
at special occasions
and worship services
as opportunities
arise. Older
children who are
interested in this
select musical group
should speak to the
Music Minister.
