Christian Life Center

Philosophy and Purpose

The whole philosophy undergoing the ministry of First Baptist Church in the Christian Life Center is that God’s people should have their lives centered daily in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ no matter what they are doing. When Christ is in the center of His people’s living, all of life including the physical becomes happier, more fulfilling and more exciting! In addition, Paul teaches that a person should honor God with his body since it is a temple of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 6:19-20).

It is there fore First Baptist’s desire for the Christian Life Center to honor Christ by offering activities that contribute to this sense of well-being. To this end the Christian Life Center seeks:

- To undergirde and assist the program organizations of the

church.

- To reach and develop individuals to the glory of God.

- To plan and execute leisure time activities that are consistent

with Christian standards.

- To promote the on-going growth of the family.

- To strengthen fellowship among church members of all ages

through leisure time activities.

- To teach participants new leisure time activity skills for

increased good health and life enjoyment.

- To promote good sportsmanship and healthy competition in

all activities.

- To encourage improved overall physical health for all

participants.

The CLC is under the guidance of an advisory committee who in turn appoints a director who schedules and runs daily activities. In addition, the committee recommends to the church the employment of two CLC attendants who are on the premises any time an activity is underway.

The current schedule of the CLC is as follows:

Walkers: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. 6 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. The track is closed during Worship Services and Prayer Meeting. Two tracks are available for walkers. Occasionally, one or both tracks are closed due to a church activity or scheduled event.

Volleyball: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesdays is reserved for league volleyball play. Pick- volleyball is reserved for 6 pm. – 8 p.m. on Thursdays. See Tanya Best for more information.
